‘The Chess Game of the Wind’ to vie at BFI London Film Festival

Iran's movie ‘The Chess Game of the Wind’ is to be screened at the BFI London Film Festival.

Classic Iranian movie ‘The Chess Game of the Wind’ is slated to be screened at the BFI London Film Festival in the UK.

A restored version of the film, directed by Mohammadreza Aslani, will compete at the 64th edition of the British festival.

Starring the recently deceased actor, Mohammad-Ali Keshavarz, ‘The Chess Game of the Wind’ is about the decadence of a family in the Qajar dynasty.

The first lady of a noble house has died, and now there is a conflict between the heirs for taking over her heritage.

Jafar Najafi’s ‘Asho’ will also represent Iran at the event.

The BFI London Film Festival will be widely accessible in the UK through 50 virtual premieres, online events and cinema screenings. The event aims to support the future generation of filmmakers.

The 2020 festival is scheduled for October 7-18, 2020.
